In your book you have the Total Calories Burned, multiply that times minutes and get your
TOTAL CALORIES BURNED during that work out.
Last night we had a 5.2 person who did 20 minutes and that burns 104 TOTAL CALORIES
There are 3500 calories in one pound
STICK WITH ME HERE: it would take 33 workouts to burn ONE pound.
I am not picking on anyone I just want to make it clear what it takes to get the weight off.
Please do your math. This is the time to "get it" and get committed to it. Let us help you and please let us see you IN The Fitness Center this week.

I know that I burned 382 in my zone one workout today. I had an egg mcmuffin (cause I was lazy) no cheese no bacon for breakfast 280 calories and 1/2 cup rice and 1/4 cup black beans with salsa for lunch, 260 and have had 2 bottles of water so far.
For me so far so good.
What's for dinner
so if my number is 5.4 and I walk on the treadmill 60 min then I have burned 324 cal and if I do that 5 times per week I will burn 1620 cal, is this right?...
I understand the math computation, but if I workout 300 minutes a week and burn 1860 cals, how can I lose even one lb. a week since one lb. equals 3500 cals???

You are correct. That will get you about 1/2 pound a week lost.
NOW if you can figure out how many calories you can eat each day to lose 1/2 pound a week that is YOUR WAY to lose 1 pound a week!!!
If you want more.....either cut some more calories or do more cardio

YOU CAN'T.
so if that is the amount of cardio that you did and you lost one pound this week the amount of calories you ate gave you the other amount of your weight loss.
So what you know now is that if you do 1860 minutes of cardio and ate the number of calories that you ate you can expect to lose a pound a week.
How many calories did you eat each day? Are there more calories that you can reduce to lose more?
OR are you happy with the fact that what you ate and how much you exercised made you lose one pound?

the meeting was great,got to laugh, learn and get encouraged the simple plan is to eat less than before and exercise more than we were. what we put in our mouths ends up on places we don't want. plant lady
I don't like math but I understand that I have to burn more calories than I eat. I enjoyed the meeting this week. It's alway nice to laugh while you learn.

I have a question about heart rate zones and fat burning. In zone two I am burning 7.4 calories per minute and 87% are fat calories. What is the remaining 13% related to? If I am not burning fat, what am I burning?

TK the rest is your blood sugar. There is about a 5% protien burn throughout all cardio activity, BUT for our purposes we deal with either fat or sugar (carbs, glucose etc. all the same)
