Happy Birthday Natalie!! Your Mom told me how well you did last week--I bet you will see great results this week, too! I won't see you Thursday (I do weight training 3 days a week....so, I get a "pass" this week...)--have fun with those machines! Donna and Jen--I'll see you around 4pm tomorrow to see if you have gotten that scale fixed. :)
HAHA! Tammi

Weights? Sure!!! I cant wait for Jennifer to let us try another machine. I did my first interval day this afternoon. It was not easy and I am pooped but it was so worth it. I did it and I am happy. Melanie

Well, the good news is that the scale got fixed!!!:) Okay--after my little pasta meltdown last week, it occurred to me that I might have been "over serving" myself...and not even realizing it--so, I REALLY paid attention this week--and it paid off! YIPPEEE!! It was so good to see all of my plan buddies in the Wednesday class--and everyone looks great! I am so proud of all of you!! Carolyn--you and the treadmill becoming such good friends, Bette and a new number...Anne and your good stress...And Melanie!! You hit that magic 2!! I am so excited for all of you! And Kim!! You are looking wonderful!! Hope my buddies in the Thursday class have fun tomorrow night! Donna & Jennifer--in case you didn't know this--I am forever grateful to both of you and THE PLAN!!

Tammi, what a long fun trip it's been. Thanks for keeping it going for the others, and Anne offering "hope" in today's class.

She is free she has changed and she is happy about it. We are as happy for you Anne!

Keep coming back and we will see you all up there

At first, I dreaded having to go to a meeting every Wednesday, now I know I will miss them when it is over. I love to hear everyones story. Some of you are so hilarius. Jennifer, Donna- you two are perfect doing what you do. Again, I may not be losing tons of weight, but I am steadily making progress, I knwo one day I will reach my goal. I am replacing old habits with new ones. And yes Tammi, my treadmill is becoming my buddy. I am really happy I got it. I had someone else on the plan tell me today that she was going to drag hers out of the garage, dust it off, and start using it. Nice to know I've been a small source of inspiration to someone else. Thanks Jennifer for the help with the weights today, hope I'll be able to get out of bed in the morning-ha!ha!. Hope everyone has a good week. Carolyn

In case you are headed to the movies over the weekend:

New laboratory tests conducted by the non-profit Center for Science in the Public Interest reveal that a $12 medium-popcorn-and-soda combo sold at Regal, the country’s largest movie-theater chain, contains 1,610 calories and 60 grams of saturated fat — the equivalent of three McDonald’s Quarter Pounders with 12 pats of butter.

YIKES!!

So, I need to try some of that greek yogurt? Never had it...
It occurred to me last night...(sorry, I had another revelation that you all have to read about now)a normal portion of food is really enough. Donna and Jennifer are now laughing, I'm sure! Well, for someone who has eaten 8 times what she needs for most of her life--it did take a little while to learn that. And, it is still hard to break those old habits! I have been really aware of portion size since my "pasta incident" and after I finished my dinner last night (with a normal--and I do mean NORMAL portion size)I recognized that I was perfectly content, not hungry and quite satisfied. So, it has taken 9 months to get here. And, if I never lose another pound--doing this Plan thing has been so worth it! (D & J: the goal is to lose more--so, don't worry...I will continue to be visiting the scales!) Well, I can't even believe that Thanksgiving is 2 days away...I am taking a nice big salad to the feast...(did you know that you can have lots of portions of lettuce/spinach/greens and consume very few calories??)
Hope everyone has a great day and if you have some pie--watch the portion size!! :) Tammi

Oh my Tammi!. Talk about portion size, I really fell off the wagon this week. I've already admitted to Jennifer my unspeakable sin. I have learned a valuable lesson from it though. The scales this week will confirm my sins, but as Jennifer once said--one meal does not make a week. I do hate the fact that I lost 4lbs. last week, and probably will have gained them back this week. However, even with a big Thanksgiving dinner that I will be fixing Sunday(I have to work Thanksgiving), I will be mindful of what I eat. Prior to the "Plan", I would not have been. So, Jennifer, there still is hope for me. I saw Donna as I was leaving the Fitness Center Monday. I didn't have the heart to confess to her as well. Jennifer, fill her in. I want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. We truly do have a lot to be thankful for!!!! Carolyn

Tammi, I love it. "A normal portion size is enough"......not valuable if someone else tells you, remarkable when it suddenly dawns on you as a truth. I have loved making this journey with you, and we aren't done yet!!! :) More fun to come.
Carolyn, let it go. You probably WON'T gain back 4 lbs anyway. It's a journey, so don't beat yourself up.
I'm totally hooked so the real reason to come to the blog today is to tell you to try Jennie-O lean turkey burgers...frozen, 160 cal, ONLY 85 mg of Sodium which is NOT what I was expecting when I picked up the box. 18 grams of protein. I love boca burgers etc but too much sodium. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and yes much to be thankful for.

Anne, Thanks so much for your words of encouragement. It is a journey, isn't it? I just needed to hear that. Carolyn

Tammi, your revelations are cracking me up!!! It is so true... people can tell you truths, but until you learn them for yourself, they mean nothing. Great to see you yesterday!!! You look wonderful and you have a twinkle in your eye!!! :)
