A nice quote sent to me and now to you

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right and forget about the one's who don't.

Believe everything happens for a reason.

If you get a chance, take it & if it changes your life, let it.

No one said life would be easy, they just promised it would most likely be worth it............

Great Job this week, thanks for the effort and who needs us to help with something?

Well said and so true!!
I will be in PA at the end of this month and I am very fearful of what I am going to eat... Jason and I are flying up there so I am limited on what food I can pack. We are staying in Valley Forge. Already made sure the hotel had a gym... it does! :) Any suggestions on what to do???

Steph, I went to the beach with my family last plan and LOST weight. It might not be your best week, but you don't have to gain because you are away. Just bring your book and do the plan as best as you can. Don't worry, have fun, and blog away from home if you can. :)

That's great Anne, There are 2 sides, eating and exercising. If one is not as available do the best you can do at the other. The best you can! It's fine it good it's another day.

even in the rain --what a great day to be outside --IF anyone is looking for something to do tomorrw do the ARTWORKS tour all around GSO--lots of great artwork on display..Brixx's for lunch with a wheat crust veggie and shrimp pizza--2 slices....but hubs had to get the pumpkin tiramisu--omg it is great if you get someone to let you have just a bite of theirs--limited myself to a one inch sliver!!!!..never would have done that before the PLAN...dottie

so...... The Plan gives the gift of tiramisu, I am not sure we have had that one before but it is a good one. I hope I can get to Gboro and see some art and chill

arg... cold stone got the better of me last night... but I felt like crap after I ate it (not because of guilt, but b/c I haven't had that much sugar in almost 2 weeks). so I learned that it is NOT worth it!!! I will be doing some extra time on the treadmill today... I went over my calories yesterday... by like 500... woops... stupid cold stone!!! anyway, hope everyone is having an awesome weekend and avoiding the cold stone!! Thanks for the advice, Donna and Anne!!

I think a cold stone is the same thing as a slab, a slab is where they put dead people, don't go to cold stone and if you do

get a small
xoxo

BUT...if you have advance notice that the slab is in your very near future you must absolutely go to cold stone and get the coffee lover's only, in a small of course, because who wants to be both dead AND fat. I'm completely sleep deprived and have to go back in for a second 12 hour night so hopefully I can stay off the blog until I get some sleep or who knows what else I might come up with. It's a new day Steph.

Steph,
I think this is just what the plan is all about. Cold Stone is out there staring us in the face; taunting us... daring us to come in! Your experience helps us all and the suggestions from others helps us with the future. Thanks for sharing and tomorrow IS a new day. Remember we're the Planimals!

Wow! Everyone had a busy weekend!! I attended a football game (and was quite disappointed in the result)....and we had our tailgate--It was "Italian Day"...I was a bit worried ('cause I love Italian!)--but, thankfully, the salad took up over half of my plate..(a little trick I've started doing to myself), so I couldn't put too much of that pasta stuff on there! I am still trying to work off the extra calories I consumed on my out of town trip! I have discovered that 90 minutes on the treadmill won't kill me! Only "slab" kill....Are we having a "shoe" class? That would be great...Hope everyone has a great week! Tammi

Well now I feel even worse about cold stone... slab... dead people... ewww!! I am going to barf! Thanks, Bette, for looking on the bright side for me ("my experience helped others")!!! As far as shoes... you MUST go to Pro Fit on Main Street (next to Sumela Restaurant). I got my shoes there and my feet never hurt!!!!
I did 100 minutes on the treadmill yesterday!!! :)

Nervous about weigh-in tomorrow.

Anonymous said...

dont be nervous about weigh-in time. we will all have our ups and downs, trying to do the best we can. I am in PB withdrawal. Melanie

yeah, really, it's just a scale :).
I don't think night shift is going to prove to be my friend with the plan and the scale will prove it. But we'll see. I only do it every other weekend so I might have to try to really maximize the weeks I'm not doing nights. And struggle through the best I can when I am on nights...it messes up everything! uhoh, PB withdrawal. Scary.

Yes... we were out of PB in the house for about 4 days... it was not good. Went to HT today and picked up more! -Steph

Anne, tell me why the schedule change messes you up? Sometimes if we define the (percieved) problem then break it down the solution is not so difficult. "Plan" what you think will hinder you then "Plan" your answer. You will be fine you always are!!!!

Anonymous said...

Donna, well....there is no answer that I can't plan for, you are right. But everything seems to go out the window. Very poor sleep, don't seem to drink anything except coffee, no water, not the right food, usually not anything, and then the wrong thing. Never underestimate the power of chocolate and some gross highly caffeinated drink (diet mountain dew seems popular on night shift) to get you through a couple hours. It actually works, you feel like you are dying, you eat chocolate and diet mountain dew and you feel alive again for long enough to get your shift over. And then you feel like dying again!! I was not doing nights the last time on the plan....these are new challenges. I'll be OK, in general, but got to figure things out. It's all good, I know the direction the scale is going in if I do the right things, it's a process and I'm still getting my mind around it. That's why I came back!! I'll figure it out, and you'll help, because you always do! See ya later today.

Melanie: Oh my! PB withdrawal---go out and get some of that stuff! We all need some PB now and then...

Anne: I feel your pain about nights--I can remember how awful I felt when I worked them...Didn't know when to sleep, when to eat...Especially bad when you don't do them "routinely" (your schedule is not a routine). I don't know if you've tried this or not...You might want to get on the treadmill right after work--I see a lot of our night staff do that--and I think it does help them with the sleep part. As for eating/drinking...I don't have an answer--I never get this right when I am over tired...

As for our nervous (weigh in) blogger--don't be. As Melanie said--we are all in this togehter...The scale is just a tool to help us understand how all of this works. Believe me, I've seen it before and in a couple of weeks--you will too! :)
Can't wait to hear "our" results from weigh ins!:) Tammi

Anne, I know exactly what you mean about schedule changes. I finished 2 12's on days last weekend, didnt get out on time, came back Monday for second shift. I was not a happy camper by Tuesday, the peanut butter jar kept calling my name. If anybody likes veggies, try this:
Zucchini Tomato Bake
1 medium onion chopped
3 medium zucchini chopped or shredded. 3 medium maters chopped. 1 cup shredded reduced fat swiss cheese, 1/3 cup reduced fat sourcream. pepper 1/2tsp.
saute onion. place in a mixing bowl. add all the ingredients and mix, just use 1/2cup of the shredded cheese. place in 11by7 pan sprayed with PAM. sprinkle with remaining cheese and 2tbsp parmesan cheese. bake 350 for 30min
the good news: 1 serving is 113KCAl and 9gm protein. I did use some red pepper too.

Thanks for the words of encouragement...I have a week and a half to come up with some strategies to try to make nights better. I didn't lose anything this week, but didn't gain either. But I'm feeling inspired and we'll see about that next week. You guys are great, all of you. Hope everyone has a great week.

Hope everyone is having a good week. Learn a lot about my shoes and feet. Great info. Thank you Donna for all your help. I still need some help on my calorie counting. Getting better.

Having a tough day. Very frustrated with the scale last night. Feeling lost to as what to do... since I did everything right last week (minus the stupid Cold Stone)... anyway, just having a pity party I guess...

Steph--Don't worry about it...This is a new day, a new week! (Of course, it's easy for me to say--I haven't weighed yet...count down to 6pm:)) Really! As an alumni--I had some weeks that were disappointing the first time around--but, this is a journey that we learn from (that's why I came back for a second round!:). Keep at it--you WILL see results! And, don't beat yourself up over one slab! It was ONLY one slab!! :) Isn't that right Donna & Jennifer? I'm loving the blog activity! Tammi

Thanks, Tammi! I really needed to hear that!! :) I will continue on this journey!! :)

Stephie, way too early to get discouraged girl. You must believe in the PLAN :)And it is never, ever hard to figure out what to do. All last time people asked me questions about what I was doing and didn't seem satisfied with the answers I was giving, like there had to be something more. There isn't. Just do what Donna and Jen say to do. This isn't the biggest loser where you spend 8 hours a day working out, nobody is going to lose 7 pounds a week, some weeks will be bigger weeks than others. So what? What direction is the scale compared to the day you first weighed in. What happened last week besides cold stone? Oh yeah, you lost weight even though you had just lost a ridiculous amount of weight week one, you still lost. Be happy. :)
