Give Yourself What You Need

Hey, remember this is all about feeling better on many levels. Your body needs a certain amount of calories and exercise and water and sleep AND postivie relationships. So do what you can to get what you need. There are not many people in The Plan that NEED 1400 or more calories. So why would anyone be eating more than they need?

BECAUSE THEY ARE USING FOOD TO SATISFY SOMETHING ELSE
Please Don't. Identify your emotions and deal with emotions in the proper way.

If you are anxious........get some exercise

If you are tired........get more rest if you need something now...get some water, wash your face

If you are sad.......write it in your journal and call a friend

If you are overwhelmed(housework?)..........finished the smallest task(clean the bathroom)

GIVE YOURSELF WHAT YOU NEED BECAUSE YOU DESERVE IT

I've had a great long week end in the Northeast!! :)) I ate, drank and have been merry!! But, here's the deal--I ran every day!! And, guess what??? Today, as I was on the TM...in zone one...jogging...I realized--I LIKE IT!! Oh my!! LIKE EXERCISE????? Maybe it was the fact that I realized, I can breath AND run. At the same time...Here's the other thing that I have realized this week...I am not so focused on food...when my next feeding will be....I am very focused on when and where I will get my exercise in. WOW! Donna, I am ready to get focused...and get those extra pounds off. See ya! Tammi

Hi Tammi! Wow that all sounds so great! I am with you on the lesser focus on food and a better ability to do something else when whatever emotion (anxiety for me) hits. It is so awesome to feel in control over that!!!! The plan continues to be an amazing journey......

I started laughing at myself on my way in to work this am....I thought "who the heck was that?" writing about liking exercise!! :)) It must have been those endorphin things!:) Just kidding. It is true--I realized yesterday that my focus HAS moved from being fed to being fit. Hope this isn't a dream!:))) See you at the weighing station!

OK plan folks I spent an hour on the treadmill this morning after working a 12 hour night shift. BAM! So many things are possible when you think of why you can instead of why you can't. Still can't figure out the food on nights but perhaps that will come too. Going to bed!! Tammi I was definitely thinking "endorphins" when I read your post about the exercise.

I am in PA! Just did 70 minutes on the treadmill. Tammi, I am with you... when I was running I loved it!!! So, as far as the feelings things go... I was like, "Yeah right... I am not going to do that. I am in touch with my feelings. I haven't been eating to deal with my feelings in like 3 weeks!!" (Like I even know what I am talkiing about...) So yesterday Jason and I go to the airport at 6 am to catch our flight... and our flight wasn't until today... woops. (I get really nervous flying...)so I was all worked up yesterday... and guess what... when we did NOT fly I fed all of those anxieties). Woops... but did I right down my feelings as I ate??? NO.... it wasn't until TODAY that I was like "Wow, I ate a lot yesterday... and I was really anxious too... duh!!!!" Guess what? I am writing my feelings today!

Thanks, Anne! Congrats on walking after working a 12 hour night shift. That is quite an accomplishment!!! Keep it up, girl! Banana for breakfast and coffee (thank God I found some FRUIT!!!...I didn't have any fruit yesterday!) We went to Maggianos last night (the best Italian food ever!)... and I was beating myself up because I ate eggplant parm, but then I was like...before The Plan I would have eaten the whole thing (I only ate half), I would have ordered a side of pasta (I didn't) and I would have had dessert (which I did not even consider!)... so, to me that is an accomplishment!

Keep thinking positive thoughts for me! I am focused! I will be on the treadmill this afternoon!

Jason looks at me like I am crazy when I say "I am going to the gym!" I love that it is a given to me now that I am walking everyday! I will miss you all today!

I am happy to be a part of the most motivated group at HPRHS! Just to clarify, I said last night that I like to eat and read. Yes, I know that is environmental, that is why now I make sure that one I am hungry and two I eat my little apple pieces when I am reading instead of an entire box of crackers. I cant wait to get to the point where I actually like exercise....... I am happy that I have lost a 10lb bag of taters off me, plus a few more taters. melanie

make that 1.4 bags o'taters Melanie. If you are trying to get in your fruits and veggies then maybe the eating while reading is doing your body good! you are leading the lead class!!! stay on here and inspire others.
Thanks for you efforts
