YWCA 10k ROCK's at night

It it time for a Race Shirt! YWCA of High Point is having a 5k / 10k Party. Saturday, August 22. 3.1 miles or 6.2 miles gets you a cool t-shirt, some socks and more swag. Come out and earn a shirt. Everyone can get the 5k done for sure right? You can register online at

Registration is at 5 pm race starts at 6 pm and we have 4 bands playing till 11 for the after party. $25 gets you into the race and the party and for your cheering section $5 for 17 and under and $10 Adults gets them into the party.

Use this as part of your training the next 12 days. Train for miles on the treadmill or outside. One of my favorite sayings is:

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU DID SOMETHING FOR THE FIRST TIME?

what is your personal best in a 5k? Have you ever done one? Can you do a 10k? Come on!!!

I'm actually working 12 hours on this day, but it sounds like something I would like to do now and I would not have liked to do it before so I like that. Maybe if I get cancelled for census I'll get my 16 yr old (who actually likes to hang with his mother sometimes) and come on over...he will want to if I mention the bands...Anyway, I'm happy just that I WANT to grab a friend and go. Another miracle of the plan :)

Interesting article this week in Time magazine... Sounds like the "research" community is starting to address what THE PLAN already knows!!

Hi! I won't be able to do the run/walk/crawl...Have out of town guests coming to visit...:(
AND, I was going to sign up for the Rives race...but, I'll be back at the beach!:)) Guess I'll just have to plan my own little 5 or 10K...is it possible that I could do a 10K? I'd like to try it--if only just once...That will be a new goal for me! I'm still doing "the plan" and seeing results...I think that next week is week 5 for the exercise deal--so, back to getting some zone 2 in. Is that right? It seems like just yesterday Jennifer was telling us to go back to "the new zone 1"...I guess that zone 2 will be the "new zone 2"? Look out 10k--here I come!

Yes you can do a 10k Tammi we will find one that fits your schedule. It will be a good race shirt for you to get, there are so many.
