Just do what has gotten you the most success. Janie does it one way, Hilda another. Cindy has a specific nutrition plan and it is working for her. If you find your path is random at this point. Let's discuss because we have 6 people over 20 pounds and that means 6 different ways. Use the power of the group. I love the effort.
Anne how's the beach?

Hi Everyone, beach is good...but I'm getting that "OK, kind of getting ready to be home mood"...sort of want to get back to easier environment. But hopefully not coming home with any extra baggage if you know what I mean. I'm very interested in knowing from the group you are referring to what has worked best for them. I have to think about what strategies have worked best for me. Anne
Hi Anne! Safe travels back home! For me, what has worked...is being consistent and planning. What I eat, what time I eat, when I excercise, where I excercise, how much (food and exercise!)...I think in one of our classes D & J talked about people who don't struggle with weight have certain habits and don't stray from those habits...SO, I've been trying to create some habits...I have 2 or 3 things I eat for breakfast (not the same thing every day), during the week I always have a salad for lunch with grilled chicken (I actually love salad!), and for dinner--it varies a little more--but, mostly chicken or fish and veges. I love pasta--so, I let myself have it once or twice a week (always after I weigh in on Tuesdays!)--but, keep within the "serving" and calories that I need (those serving sizes can get ya! and I mean, I LOVE pasta!!). I told the group last week that I felt like I was becoming obsessed with food...always writing it down, analyzing the calories, sodium, etc...D & J said I was becoming obsessed with being healthy....Not sure I am convinced of that!:) I do think that I am becoming obsessed with exercise...I am finding that I can make time to exercise every day...and somedays, twice! Okay--I'm not really obsessed with it...I really do it so that I can eat more than 1200 calories a day--Sorry Jennifer!:) I haven't quite gotten to the point where I believe I can eat only 1200 on a consistent basis...once or twice a week maybe...not every day! Well, I've carried on long enough! I'm looking forward to seeing you next week! Tammi
Thanks, Tammi! Really, I am listening so intently to everyone because I want to gather as much as I can from this. I agree with you on the planning, and I know what you mean too about feeling obsessed because the amount of time I spend thinking about this stuff is a lot! But it's because it takes time to figure it all out and to have everything you need on hand etc.,..I don't think you can be as successful with this without all that planning. The other thing for me that I am still working on is not allowing myself to wait on the exercise til later in the day because I find at times things come up or I might let things come up. If it's done earlier in the day it is DONE. I also go around saying in my head a lot of the things we talk about in the meetings...the little one liners that have stuck out for me. This may be a little pathological, I don't know, but it helps me!! Anyway, the transformation of mind and body continues! GUESS WHAT DONNA? I just got back from THE WALK to that damned ice cream store. I underestimated how hot the sun was going to feel on the way home. 7 miles. I thought I could and I did :) Happy 4th to everyone. Anne
wow you walked more than a 10k!!
I am laughing a little, so if you have decided you are obsessed I ask with what? and is it a bad thing? if you have decided that you are not obsessed is that OK? or not OK? And if you have not decided yet whether you are or are not obsessed just do your PLAN today and expect what both of you have gotten again next week!
I wish you guys could say to everyone struggling with their weight....just do this, it's hard, it's easy, it's possible it works.
Keep obsessing or not and I will see you next week.
Today, we got a treadmill for the house. I'm beyond thrilled! Had already been to the gym today but had to try it out for a bit this evening. No excuses now for not getting my exercise.. and I'm excited about that!
Beth
well alright then Beth! easy access is a good thing.
Happy 4th Everyone
Hi Beth! That is great! I keep thinking that I should get a treadmill for the house...You will have to let me know how it goes for you. I like coming to the gym--when I am coming to HP...but, it sure would be nice not to have to drive somewhere to work out...SO, let me know how it works for you and how you made your purchase decision!
My big discovery today was....I went to buy treats for my rounds--and I made the decision that I would not round with candy. So, I bought granola bars, pretzels, cracker things (think that some people come them "nabs"?), raisins (in the little boxes)--and nothing with any of that asparstuff..AND! I spent less money buying that stuff than I normally did buying candy!
Hope everyone had a great 4th! It's going to be a nice rainy day to give people a chance to recuperate from yesterday!:)
Oh--Donna, I HAVE been telling everyone that will listen that the Plan makes weight loss truly possible...and somedays it is hard--but, some days it is easy and the easy days are becoming more frequent. Tammi
I have too Donna, been telling who will listen how there is something about the plan that makes it seem possible. The greatest thing to me is that it seems possible for life and I feel different! I'm a little cautious because I understand that what seems life changing to me may not be the same for someone else and I don't want them to go run spending their money on my account...but it's too exciting not to talk about. The change in mindset is what brings "easy" and the change in mindset is also what brings "possible"...I might have hard days sometimes, or a little setback here and there but I'm doing this thing!!!! I love the blog too, by the way :). I'm glad to be home, although the beach was great. I find it more comfortable and convenient to be obsessive at home :). I've thought about the treadmill at home too Tammi but don't have a great place for it. Thinking of joining the Rush at some point because of a friend (Rose on 5S) and here's the thing with the Rush, it's open 24/7--...good luck with excuses given that scenario! Happy Sunday everyone...I need to get out the door to walk. Anne
OK Tammi the position of PR Director at the Precision Health Design World Domination Center has come open and we are considering you for the position. Thank you for your resume and the cash!
You home yet Anne? Life is good!
So I have to tell you!! The "healthier" snacks were (for the most part) a hit!! I even had someone leave me a voicemail thanking me!! Happy Monday!! Tammi
That's what I'm talkin 'bout Tammi!!
My 4th of July confession.... got made fun of for not having any of the 9 layer chocolate cake. Participated in the demolishing of a half bushel of boiled peanuts. My trick for the family.... told them I would eat desserts if they made them... nothing store bought (although it was from the "Cake Lady" in Sav GA) That seemed to appease them :) At least temporarily :)

I must admit that I too am one of the "obsessed planimals"; BECAUSE IT WORKS!!!!!! I gave another commercial for The Plan and left some brochures with the 0545 water aerobics class this morning at The Rush. It is very easy to be so enthusiastic about The Plan-because it works so well! I love the Fitness Center and all who work there, but The Rush is open 24/7 and has a pool! Annette
